Lavender essential oil is balancing, energizing and immune-stimulating, tonifying and antiseptic, anti-inflammatory (helping muscle spasms and balancing the nervous system) and stimulating. Lavender is a natural antibiotic, sedative and detoxifier. It cleans and soothes; calms and invigorates (depending on the species).
So, how do you use lavender essential oil?
Lavender is a go-to remedy, weather you’re facing a bump in the road or are simply in the mood for some self-care.
Here are a few simple ways to infuse your daily life with the power of lavender, via high-quality lavender essential oil.
1. Relieve stress by calming body and mind
Take a bath with sea or Epsom salts and 8-10 drops of Lavender angustifolia essential oil.
2. Treat insect bites, cuts and scrapes
Apply Lavandin essential oil directly, or mix with a carrier oil (like olive or coconut) and massage into skin.
3. Sleep better
Calm the mind and induce sleep by placing 3-4 drops of Lavender angustifolia essential oil onto your pillow and to the bottoms of your feet. You can also dilute essential oil into a lavender mist, or use lavandin hydrosol, and spray onto your linens.
4. Clear your sinuses with lavender steam
Add 8 drops of Lavandin essential oil in a large bowl full of boiling water. Sit and place bowl in front of you so that you can bend over the bowl, and place a large cloth towel over the back of your head and over the bowl. This creates a miniature steam room. Sit for 10 minutes and allow the lavender steam to cleanse your sinuses. You can also add peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil for a stronger steam.
5. Clean your home, naturally
For centuries, lavender has been valued for its natural antibacterial properties. Embrace the power of lavender to clean your home without synthetic materials.
Combine 1 cup of water or lavandin hydrosol with 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. Add 12 drops each of Lavandin essential oil and your favorite citrus essential oil. Funnel the mixture into a spray bottle and shake well before each use. Use this all-purpose cleaner on counters and floors.
Enjoy the gifts that nature has to offer by using high-quality essential oil in your daily life. It’s empowering to have a powerful go-to remedy that’s natural, safe and effective – all within reach.
